About GPPI

Gambia Public Procurement Institute (GPPI )established in 2014  as Satellite Institute of GPPA has since its inception uses the Public Procurement Training Systems (PPTS) for its Levels  one, and Two Certificate and Diploma in accordance with the agreement terms  with International Training Centre ITC ) in Turin , Italy. But plans are now at an advanced stage to implement for the first time the reviewed Syllabus of Public Procurement to make it contextually relevant and modern to the Gambia context  in  the first half of 2021 and the introduction of Level three, Advanced Diploma in Public Procurement for the first time. This is made possible under the able watch of Director General Saloum Malang for giving so much support.

The Level three, Advance Diploma in Public Procurement will enable Career Professionals in Public Procurement Entities to advance a career and effectively ensure Compliance to public Procurement Processes  in compliance to the Procurement Law and thus add value to tax Payers Money.

GPPI POLICIES ON ADMISSION, PLAGIARISM, EXAMINATION

QUALITY ADMISSION POLICY

  1. Only those students from Level one who have secured grade point of B- above average that is above 60 shall be admitted into Diploma in Public Procurement.
  2. Admission into Level one certificate in Public Procurement shall require 5 WASSCE Credit or Passes with outstanding Credit in English language
  3. Female candidates with three Credit including English Language shall be admitted into Certificate level one Public Procurement
  4. Mature working student in the relevant field of study shall be admitted without the above
  5. Mature Candidates upon request by their departments shall also be admitted into Certificate public Procurement.
  6. Candidates with Masters or first degree who want to pursue a career in Public Procurement shall be require to start from level one unless in extreme case or that

require the advice of the Director General.

GPPI ACADEMIC QUALITY POLICY ON PLAGIARISM

  1. Policy Principles a Plagiarism, collusion and other forms of cheating are expressly forbidden under the GPPI Rules for Assessment1, which state that:
  2. No student will submit for assessment any piece of work that is not entirely the student’s own, except where either: the use of the words, designs, computer code, creative works or ideas of others is appropriate and duly acknowledged, or the assessor has given prior permission for joint or collaborative work to be submitted.
  3. No student will submit as if they were genuine any data or results of laboratory, field or other work that are fabricated or falsified.
  4. No student will assist any candidate in any piece of assessed individual work, and no student shall accept assistance in such a piece of assessed individual work, except in accordance with approved study and assessment schemes.
  5. No student will submit the same piece of work for assessment in two different courses, except in accordance with approved study and assessment schemes.
  6. Any form of cheating in examinations is expressly forbidden in the GPPI Policy on Cheating in Examinations and Related Forms of Assessment
  7. The GPPI regards all plagiarism as unacceptable. At the very least, unintentional plagiarism is a lowering of the standards of academic integrity and an impediment to student learning. Where plagiarism is intentional and/or systematic, it is cheating.
  8. In order to maintain high standards of academic integrity it is the obligation of every member of the GPPI to know and respect the rules concerning plagiarism, and to seek and foster a learning environment that encourages the development of academic skills that are appropriate for each discipline.
  9. Plagiarism is always unacceptable but can occur as a result of inadequate understanding of the procedures of appropriate referencing or because of a lack of skills in academic writing.
  10. 1 Types of Plagiarism that will Incur Penalties a Plagiarism that will incur penalties can take several forms: i. Presenting works in any format, without appropriate attribution to the original source.
  11. To ensure that every participant gets equal chance.

QUALITY POLICY ON EXAMINATIUON AND EXAMINATION MATERIAL

  1. For the purpose of upholding confidentiality and standard in the examination, examination material shall be printed by educational services providers
  2. Prices shall be negotiated at a rescannable cost that shall be lower than the prevailing market Price to the benefit of the learning Institute.
  3. Where applicable to service contract an educational Service provider for a period of one year.
